A grand MGM musical about a Hollywood star who, as part of a publicity stunt, agrees to be the guest of a young cadet at his military school prom. Probably Lucy's best film according to Desi. The movie is based on a Broadway show and includes such Big Band hits as "Three Men on a Date," "Wish I May," "Buckle Down Winsocki" and "Two O'Clock Jump."
Lucille Ball plays herself in this musical about a movie queen who attends a prom at a military academy.
June Allyson made her film debut with "Best Foot Forward." She had appeared in the same role in the 1941 Broadway musical version. Color by Technicolor. Additional cast: Tommy Dix (Bud/Elwood C. Hooper), Kenny Bowers (Dutch), Jack Jordan (Hunk), and Bobby Stebbins (Greenie). "Two O'Clock Jump" composed by Harry James.
