Flip Dogg is an Iowa boy who lives in the 'Hood of his own mind. He and his friends roam around their small hometown affecting the same kind of hip-hop stylings they see on MTV, often hilariously. Flip and his friends ultimately take a trip to the big city, where they get a taste of what inner-city life is really like. A thoughtful look at the appeal of Urban music and style. Hoch's character Flip was originally presented as part of a one-man show off-Broadway.
White Boys, director Marc Levin's (Slam) tale of Flip (Danny Hoch) and his friends' trip into the world of the gangsta rappers they think they want to be, features a diverse and impressive name-dropping cast. Snoop Dogg (featuring T-Bo) provides the raspy yet subdued title track with a slow gait that's downright subliminal. Raekwon adds the previously unreleased "Respect Power." DJ Hurricane contributes "Come Get It" and Busta Rhymes's "Flipmode Squad," the soundtrack's first single, is an unrelenting martial stomp. Clocking in at 74 minutes and featuring 17nbsp;cuts, White Boys is a near-overdose of street-tough posturing and hard beats.
