MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS was added to the Library of Congress National Film Registry in 1994. The inspiration for MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS, Sally Smith Benson's childhood home, was demolished in December 1994, after falling into decay. Five hundred bricks were saved from the site.
