MTV is undoubtedly America's--if not half the world's--most ubiquitous shaper of popular youth culture. With their programming of short, hyperstylized music videos and fast-paced reality soap operas, the cable channel has decreased attention spans and blurred the line between truth and fiction. The series 2GETHER has proved MTV to be more postmodern than ever before as it turned a witty spoof of a boy band into a platform for the launch of the actors as a real boy band. The stars of the show are a quintet of young men, all glossy and attractive except for the comedic addition of an overweight, balding older brother. Watch, in their first movie, as they climb the difficult, often rickety ladder of success to fame and fortune, singing such hits as "U + Me = Us (Calculus)" along the way.
