Amanda Higgs (co-producer of The Secret Life Of Us) - talks about the music for the series : "We decided that what we wanted to do with the music was to make a policy that it had to be absolutely contemporary. The source music, the songs and the tracks that had been pre-recorded by other artists had to be music we believed our characters would listen to. We wanted it to appeal to our target audience - so there are lot of fantastic Australian bands and solo artists that we've been able to draw on. I think that has given our show a really contemporary feel, alongside the music that's been composed.
